2024 Pride Month Initiatives

In June, during "Pride Month," a period dedicated to raising awareness about LGBTQ+ issues worldwide, our company once again expressed our support for the "Business for Marriage Equality" campaign, which advocates for marriage equality (legalization of same-sex marriage) in Japan. Additionally, we made a donation to "Marriage For All Japan – Freedom to Marry for All," a public interest incorporated association that strives to create a society where everyone can freely choose whether or not to marry, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

Our company has always promoted "Promote diversity, equity & inclusion among everyone involved in fashion" as a key sustainability action. We revised our internal regulations to include same-sex partners in the definition of "spouse" (*1) and have implemented various measures to raise awareness about LGBTQ+ issues within our company. We have also received the highest "Gold" rating in the "PRIDE Index 2023," which evaluates initiatives for sexual minorities in the workplace, for three consecutive years (*2).

This year, we co-hosted a personal styling experience event with the certified NPO “ReBit" and LVMH Fragrance Brands Co., Ltd., which operates GIVENCHY BEAUTY, to support LGBTQ+ individuals in enjoying their unique styles. Additionally, we plan to continue working with the same NPO to conduct outreach classes on LGBTQ+ themes and implement internal awareness initiatives with our group companies. Our goal is to create a society where everyone is treated fairly, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, and we aim to continue these activities throughout the year.

We will continue to strive to create an environment where each individual can realize their potential through the promotion of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
