Introduction of the Air Conditioning Optimization Control System "EMS-AI" at Logistics Center "ZOZOBASE NARASHINO 1"
As of June 2023, we have introduced the air conditioning optimization control system "EMS-AI" (*) at our Logistics Center "ZOZOBASE NARASHINO 1" to promote energy conservation.
"ZOZOBASE NARASHINO 1" uses approximately 5.4 million kWh of electricity annually, of which air conditioning accounts for about 50%. With the introduction of "EMS-AI", temperature control of the air conditioning is automatically optimized, and as a result of a pilot test conducted from February 2020 to February 2021, the electricity used by air conditioning was reduced by approximately 20%. This translates to a reduction of approximately 238 tons of CO2 for the fiscal year 2022.
We will continue to strive for CO2 reduction and energy conservation by implementing environmentally conscious practices at each of our locations.
(*) EMS-AI stands for "Energy Management Service." It is a service developed through a collaboration between the Tokyo University-based venture company Mutron and Kinden Corporation, enabling "optimal control of multi-air conditioning for buildings."
