We conducted a career experience event inviting children from Tsukuba City at our Logistics Center "ZOZOBASE TSUKUBA 1."

As part of our Four Key Actions in promoting sustainability, one of which is "Contribute to sustainable community development," we organized an event at our logistics center "ZOZOBASE TSUKUBA 1," inviting 31 children aged 4 to 6 years from Gakuen no Mori Doronko Hoikuen, a social welfare corporation located near ZOZOBASE TSUKUBA 1. During the event, the children had the opportunity to tour the warehouse and participate in a work (*) experience.

This initiative was carried out in response to a request from Gakuen no Mori Doronko Hoikuen, who expressed their desire to create opportunities for children to develop their interpersonal skills through interaction with working adults. On the event day, staff members from the Fulfillment Division, responsible for logistics-related operations, provided an introduction to the company and explained the logistics system of ZOZOTOWN. The children also had hands-on experiences, such as placing items on shelves. After the work (*) experience, we set up an art corner with the theme "Let's Draw Today's Memories!" where the children freely expressed their memories through drawings, interacting with our staff and sharing experiences like "This is a ZOZO box!" and "There was a big machine!"

We will continue to support the young generation, who will shape the future, through various initiatives such as engaging with the local community and organizing career experience events.

(*) The word "work" is ordinarily spelled as 仕事 (shi-goto), using a character 仕 (shi) represents "serving" by its literal meaning. Instead, we use a character 自 (shi) which is pronounced in a same way but represents "self (natural)" by its literal meaning. This implies we are not serving to someone or forced to work, but are working naturally and spontaneously.
