"ZOZO Beach Clean Action" Implemented

On Thursday, March 14, 2024, we held our first "ZOZO Beach Clean Action" at Makuhari Beach, aiming to contribute to the community and protect the environment. This initiative is organized and managed by cross-departmental efforts within our company and will continue to be held regularly with our business partners and students.

On the day of the event, in addition to our company employees, employees from SHIPS Co., Ltd., students from Chiba University, and high school and university students participating in the "Umi to Nihon Project: CHANGE FOR THE BLUE" promoted by The Nippon Foundation, also joined. This event served as an opportunity to think about the issue of marine plastic waste. During the approximately one-hour cleanup activity, we collected three 30-liter bags of combustible waste and four 20-liter bags of non-combustible waste. Although Makuhari Beach appeared clean at first glance, many pieces of trash, such as fishing nets, microplastics, and plastic bottle caps, were found accumulated in the shadows of the embankment.

We will continue to engage in environmental beautification activities and interact with local residents, working together to create a sustainable community.
