Family Exchange Event "FAMILY FRIENDSHIP DAY 2021"

 

In November 2021, we held our first on-line FAMILY FRIENDSHIP DAY event for employees and their families (※1). Kotaro Sawada, our representative director, president & CEO, and employees introduced our own affairs (※2) and head office on the idea that they would like to know more about ZOZO not only for employees but also for their families.

 

FAMILY FRIENDSHIP DAY was held for the third time this time, and in the past we actually held tours of head office and logistic centers, "ZOZOBASE." This time, we were considering the possibility of holding the event, partly because of the COVID-19 disaster. By holding the event on-line, we thought that it would be a good chance to introduce ZOZO to families who had previously had difficulty participating due to the distance to the event, as well as the new head office in Nishi-Chiba, so we decided to hold the event.

 

On the day, about 200 groups of employees and their families attended the seminars. The seminars focused on introductions to the floors of the new head office in Nishi-Chiba, which is our new head office. The seminars included quiz on ZOZO, an introduction to logistic centers, "ZOZOBASE" and a questionnaire section for Kotaro.

 

In addition, we sent packages of confectionery and coffee in the Nishi-Chiba region, where our head office is located, as well as reply plates for quizzes and gold medals for children, to home, so that even if we were unable to directly visit our head office in Nishi-Chiba, we devised ways to make them enjoyable.

 

 

In a questionnaire conducted at a later date, children commented, "It was good to know what kind of workplace they are working in," "The Company is so stylish, and I wanted to work in a place like this in the future!" and "I really understood about the Nishi-Chiba office, so I wanted to go." This time it was held on-line, but I think it was also possible for employees' families to feel ZOZO closer to them.

 

 

We will continue to aim to create a pleasant working environment through in-house systems and events to create an environment in which employees can enjoy their work.

(※1) Anyone whose employees perceive as "families" can participate.

(※2) The word "work" is ordinarily spelled as 仕事 (shi-goto), using a character 仕 (shi) represents "serving" by its literal meaning. Instead, we use a character 自 (shi) which is pronounced in a same way but represents "self (natural)" by its literal meaning. This implies we are not serving to someone or forced to work, but are working naturally and spontaneously.
