ZOZO Selected for CDP Climate Change A List for the First Time, Securing a Top Rating

ZOZO, Inc. (headquartered in Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture, Representative Director, President & CEO: SAWADA Kotaro), which operates the fashion e-commerce ZOZOTOWN, has been included in the Climate Change A List, the highest rating, for the first time in the FY2024 survey by CDP(※1), a global non-profit organization for environmental information disclosure.

CDP is a global environmental non-profit organization that surveys companies and municipalities around the world on their efforts in setting high goals, managing risk, and disclosing information on environmental issues, and rates them on an eight-point scale from A to D-. CDP's annual assessment process aligns with the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations, a framework for disclosure on climate change, and is widely recognized as the global standard for assessing corporate environmental activities. In 2024, the number of companies providing disclosures through CDP rose to 24,800, representing over two thirds of global market capitalization. More than 2,100 Japanese companies have disclosed data through CDP, including over 70% of companies listed on the TSE Prime Market as of April 1st, 2024.

In February 2022, ZOZO announced the "2030 Carbon Neutrality Declaration" to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1(※2)and 2(※3)) from its business activities to net-zero by 2030. The company aims to convert 100% of the electricity at its sites to renewable energy by 2030. As of February 2025, more than 90% of the electricity consumed at its sites is from renewable energy sources. In addition, ZOZO set a "Net Zero" goal to achieve net-zero emissions in its supply chain, including  emissions from business partners (Scope 3(※4)), by 2050, and is actively working towards its realization.

ZOZO has worked on enhancing sustainable growth as a company and solving environmental and social issues since April 2021 based on Sustainability Statement "Fashion Connects and Leads us to a Sustainable Future," and four Key Actions(※5)revised in August 2024. ZOZO will keep working on achieving the goal it has set, and to realize a sustainable world of fashion that considers the environment and society.
